Missouri drug dealer gets 22-year prison sentence

As head of a drug ring in north St. Louis County, Missouri Razz E. Jordan Jr. sold heroin and crack cocaine from his front yard near Dellwood, Missouri authorities said at his sentencing hearing Wednesday.

Jordan, 26, of the 10000 block of Green Valley Drive, was sent to prison for 22 years.

William Renton Jr., head of the Drug Enforcement Administration office in St. Louis, said Jordan led a violent drug ring that operated for about two years.

"This is not just another meatball guy going down," Renton said.

Dellwood, Missouri police Chief Dan Chapman said, "It's sure good to get (Jordan) off the street."

Renton and Chapman said Jordan was suspected in several shootings. He pleaded guilty Sept. 30 of federal drug crimes and was sentenced Wednesday by Senior U.S. District Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh.

Renton described Jordan and his co-defendants as "mean and nasty drug traffickers."

The investigation into the ring began, authorities said, in late 2001 after Missouri police officers working undercover bought heroin from Jordan at his residence. Authorities say that Jordan would tell customers - sometimes 20 a day - to meet him in his front yard to complete drug deals.

Neighbors complained, and Missouri police and federal agents began investigating. Chapman praised the DEA for its help.

Customers who bought larger amounts of heroin and crack negotiated with Jordan over the telephone and either picked up the drugs from Jordan at his house or met him elsewhere, authorities said.

"Jordan and members of his organization were known for extreme violence and intimidation in the conduct of their drug-dealing activities," Renton said.

Six others charged in the case pleaded guilty and were sentenced earlier. Prison terms ranged from eight to 170 months, the U.S. attorney's office said.

Jordan's co-defendants were Corey L. Hoskins, 22, of the 10100 block of Clairmont Drive; Brandon C. McGauley, 19, of the 7300 block of Arrow Wood Court; Tyrone L. Brown, 21, of the 10800 block of Glen Garry Road; Wayne A. Dismuke Jr., of the first block of Marcel Court; Carlos Brown, 29, of the 3600 block of Hydraulic Avenue, and Ronald P. Banks, 23, of the 10100 block of Cloverdale Drive.

Jordan's co-defendants admitted they served as distributors or middlemen for drugs or were brokers for the sources supplying the drugs to Jordan, authorities said.
